Frizzo
Nathaniel Haselton AKA Frizzo has been producing music since the early 2000’s and his style is very unique. Rejecting what’s trendy in modern Hip Hop and focusing on a more experimental approach, Frizzo’s sound is unmatched. Frizzo’s early musical influences include Brotha Lynch Hung, EA-Ski, Too $hort, Ice-T and many other West Coast artists. Frizzo was born in Fontana, California and raised in the small town of Yreka, California. Newer influences for Frizzo include artists like Wim Mertens, Philip Glass and Terry Riley. Frizzo’s music is a mix of Silver Age Hip Hop and Minimalist Classical and it’s obvious when hearing his music. Frizzo currently resides in Metro Detroit and has since the late 90’s.
Frizzo has had several key roles and cameos in feature length films starring accomplished actors like Fredro Starr, Kim Coles, Lavell Crawford and other well known celebrities. Also an MC, Frizzo’s music has been featured on numerous mixtapes including Eminem’s DJ Coalition’s Shadyville Unsigned Hype and C2C Vol. 11 hosted by DJ Khaled. Frizzo has maintained solid, mutually-respectful, relationships within the Detroit Hip Hop community his entire career. All of Frizzo’s music has been composed, recorded and written by Frizzo himself.
