Daycast Earth Privacy Policy
Effective September 15, 2026
Daycast Earth is a weather and satellite globe app provided by Haselton Media Group LLC. This policy explains how the Android app handles information, including its Google AdMob banner ads.
Places and weather
The app does not require an account or request GPS location permission. You choose places by touching the globe or searching. Selected coordinates are sent to MET Norway to request weather forecasts, and to Photon / komoot to identify nearby geographical names. Search text is sent to Photon / komoot. Satellite imagery requests go to NOAA nowCOAST. These services receive your IP address and ordinary network request information and may keep server logs under their own policies. A selected place can be anywhere in the world and is not necessarily your physical location.
Country, sea and ocean fallback names use Natural Earth data bundled with the app. Saved places, a home place, preferences and cached provider responses are stored on your device. The app does not send your saved-place list to Haselton Media Group LLC or use selected coordinates, search text or saved places as custom advertising targeting.
Advertising and consent
Daycast Earth displays a Google AdMob banner. Google’s Mobile Ads SDK can collect and share IP addresses (which may indicate approximate location), device and advertising identifiers, interactions such as app launches, taps and video views, and diagnostic and performance information. Google uses these data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. This processing can occur even when ads are not personalized, subject to the applicable ad mode and your choices.
Google’s User Messaging Platform requests consent or offers opt-out choices where required. The production app requests ads only when that platform permits it. Where available, open Settings and choose “Ad privacy choices” to review or change your choices. Weather features remain available if you decline optional consent or an ad or consent form cannot load. Android settings also provide advertising-ID privacy controls. Test builds use Google’s test banner ad unit.
Read Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from partner apps.
Sharing and local controls
A weather postcard is shared only when you choose to share and select a destination in Android’s share sheet. It can include the selected place, coordinates and weather. The destination service then handles that content under its own policies.
Settings → Reset app data removes the app’s saved places, home place, preferences and weather/satellite cache. This is separate from your advertising privacy choices. Clearing all Daycast Earth storage in Android settings or uninstalling removes its local app data; this does not delete information already received by external providers. To request access, correction or deletion of information held by Haselton Media Group LLC, contact us below. We may need information to identify the relevant request; we do not maintain Daycast Earth user accounts or a server database of saved places.
Retention and security
Preferences and saved places remain on the device until reset, cleared or uninstalled. Provider responses are cached locally for reuse and offline display, with size limits and periodic pruning. An already started network request may finish after you leave the app. Provider and advertising retention periods are governed by those providers’ policies. Network requests use HTTPS. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
